The State government has appointed nodal officers to oversee the celebrations of the 550th Jubilee of Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math at Partagal-Poinguinim in Canacona.
In an order issued through the Under Secretary (Personnel-I), three Goa Civil Services Officers have been appointed as the nodal officers for the “Sardha Panchashatamantosav” organised by Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, marking the 550th Anniversary of the revered math, to be held from November 27 to December 7. The three officers are Addl. Collector-I, South Goa, Srinet N Kotwale (Nodal Officer), Dy. Collector & SDM, Canacona, Prataprao Gaonkar, and Dy. Collector & SDM, Quepem, Manohar Karekar (Assistant Nodal Officers). These appointments are in addition to their existing duties.
The 10-day event of the unprecedented 550th jubilee year celebrations is likely to be attended by thousands of devotees and invitees from all over the world at Partagal (Canacona). ‘Sardha Panchashatamantosav’ is a Sanskrit word which translates to ‘550th Anniversary’ and refers to the 550th Punyatithi (death anniversary) Aradhana of Shreemad Vidhyadhiraj Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji.
