Collector, South Goa and Kushavati districts Egna Cleetus, has designated taluka Mamlatdars and Municipal Chief Officers as Nodal officers to receive complaints of sexual harassment of women at work place.
The brief of the nodal officer is to receive complaints and forward the same to the concerned Local Complaints Committee within a period of seven days.
In an order, the district Collector stated that the Nodal Officers shall receive complaints of sexual harassment at workplace falling within their respective jurisdictions and shall forward the same to the Local Complaints Committee within a period of seven days, as required under the Act.
The Nodal Officers shall also ensure that proper confidentiality is maintained in respect of complaints received and shall act strictly in accordance with the provisions of the POSH Act, 2013, and the rules framed thereunder.
The concerned Nodal Officers shall display information regarding the Local Complaints Committee and the mechanism for submission of complaints at a prominent place in their respective offices for the information of the general public and stakeholders.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect.
