Not notified of water release, says Sarpanch

Ibrampur Sarpanch Sonali Ibrampurkar said the panchayat was not notified or alerted when the gates of the Tillari Dam were opened to release excess water.

“Had we been informed that the gates were being opened to release excess water, we could have moved people to safer areas. Locals helped to to shift people and their livestock in time on Friday but did not have time to save their home appliances.”

“As sarpanch, it upsets me to witness my own village suffering like this," said Ibrampurkar.
