Notification on ore transportation withdrawn

The Department of Mines and Geology has withdrawn its moratorium on ore transport which was issued at the beginning of the monsoon paving way for the recommencing of the mining season.

A notification to that effect was issued on Thursday. “The monsoon has almost receded, the notification issued stands withdrawn with immediate effect,” Director of Mines Prasanna Acharya has said.

On June 27 the Government of Goa had banned transportation of ore by road with an eye on public safety.
