No-trust move at Bethora
PONDA: Five Bethora panchas have moved a no-confidence motion against Deputy Sarpanch Sadanand Gaonkar.
A special meeting to discuss the no-confidence motion has been convened on November 3.
Sarpanch Punam Samant informed that Gaonkar was not cooperating in panchayat affairs and hence they had to take the step. Chandrakant Samant, Durgaprasad Vaidya, Rajendra Naik and Jyoti Gawade signed the no-confidence motion notice.
The new political development in Bethora Panchayat is the result of the last gram sabha, which was dissolved following a ruckus over confirmation of minutes of the previous gram sabha.
Sadanand Gaonkar along with Panchas Prasad Prabhugaonkar, Manda Gawade and Premanand Shetkar had supported the villagers in the gram sabha. They had demanded discussion over the minutes.
The other group led by Sadanand Gaonkar had demanded a special gram sabha to discuss the ‘Makadmare’ issue. Soon after their appeal, the no-confidence motion was moved against Gaonkar.
Prasad Prabhugaonkar has alleged that Gaonkar has been targeted for supporting the villagers in the last gram sabha.
