Goa aims to become the first state in India to completely go digital with the launch of Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) identity cards which will be linked to the Aadhaar cards so that the medical records of patients will be accessed immediately and medical help could be provided to the patient without delay.
Announcing the initiative on Friday, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, who launched the unique app system, stated that the GVK EMRI has collaborated with ABHA to create ABHA ID cards in the ambulance after giving critical care to patients.
The EMPs inside the ambulance will be assisting the patient to create the cards.
These ABHA ID cards will later be associated with all hospitals carrying the medical records of the patient in digital form.
As of now, they will help us in reducing the response time because the exact location of the patient will be given to us through the app in the EURO system. This will reduce the response time from 76 seconds to 60 seconds or even less.
The medical team will attend to the patient immediately, reducing response time and giving care at the right moment. Also, the ABHA ID cards will be linked with Aadhaar cards, with the name, address and age of the patient. This information or data will automatically be associated with the PCR, which will be created in the ambulances. Again, it will reduce the time and also be accurate.
This way, Goa aims to be the first state to go completely digital. Thus, whoever is travelling in the ambulance or going out should carry their Aadhaar cards with them for the team in the ambulance will be able to create the ABHA card for them in case of emergency medical requirements.
The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number is a hassle-free method of accessing and sharing one’s health records digitally. It enables the patients to interact with participating healthcare providers by scanning the barcode and entering their Aadhaar card number. It allows patients to receive their digital lab reports, prescriptions and diagnoses seamlessly from verified healthcare professionals and health service providers.
