Water Resources Minister, Vinoda Paliencar on Sunday acknowledged that getting financial approval was a problem in the government but he along with the other senior leaders in the Goa Forward Party will try to find a way out of the imbroglio.
“In the current scenario there are several issues plaguing the government and among them finance is a major issue. It is crucial to find a solution to the problem and we will take steps in that direction,” Paliencar said.
The water resources minister was responding to financial constraints and serious inertia in the administration expressed by Revenue Minister, Rohan Khaunte and the leaders of other alliance partners in the government.
Paliencar said that he will soon meet GFP leader, Vijai Sardesai and discuss issues pertaining to financial constraints in the government.
“There is need for all of us to sit together and find a lasting solution to the problem. It’s important to promptly resolve the issue and in that direction I will meet Sardesai,” he said.
He also said that if financial issues were not resolved than implementing welfare projects will be difficult and indirectly hamper government prospects.
“Finance is crucial for development to take place and if we want to bring in vikas weneed to first resolve financial problems,” he said.
He further said that possibly since Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar was unwell some of the decisions were not getting priority that they deserve but expected that the issues will get resolved in days ahead. On Saturday, Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte had hit out at his own government openly criticising the functioning of the
administration.
He had slammed the bureaucracy saying no file was moving in the finance ministry for the last seven months.
Khaunte had also trained his guns on a clique of bureaucrats and individuals who he claimed were surreptitiously cornering benefits in the absence of Parrikar.
