The Maina-Curtorim police has registered a case of dowry death under Section 304-B of the IPC in connection with the death of 30-year old Samanta Fernandes at Nuvem.
Maina-Curtorim police station in-charge, PI Arun Desai informed that the police has registered the case against Patrociana Fernandes, a resident of Gounloy-Nuvem for allegedly subjecting her daughter in law, Samanta Fernandes to cruelty and harassment for demand of dowry.
Samanta had died at the Goa Medical College, Bambolim as a case of burning at her residence on Gounloy Nuvem.
Further investigations are on.
