PANAJI
Casino vessels got six more months to stay put and docked in the navigation channel of Mandovi river which hugs the capital city Panaji.
The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant cabinet on Wednesday granted yet another six-month extension of the deadline for the vessels to move out.
The casino operators were directed by the Bombay High court to move out of the river and relocate elsewhere in a location to be designated by the State government.
The High Court intervened after barge, trawler and sightseeing cruise operators complained the casino vessels were clogging the river's crucial navigation channel.
