The Old Goa police have located the sedan involved in the tragic car plunge in St Estevam that occurred early last Sunday.

The sedan, occupied by Yasim Gous (32) and Salman Gous (28) from Belagavi, was found and the two men were brought in for questioning.

They have since been released but must report to the Old Goa police station as needed. The police have seized the sedan.

Four police teams were formed to track the vehicle, which was successfully located after a brief pursuit in Hubli, Karnataka. According to the police, the Gous brothers were driving a Etios from Panaji to Belagavi when they had a minor accident with a rental car driven by Bashudev Bhandari.

Bhandari, who did not stop after the accident, was chased by the Gous brothers, leading to a confrontation.

At the Tolto ferry point in St Estevam, Bhandari, trying to evade the sedan, drove his car into the Cumbarjua canal. While Bhandari and his friend managed to escape the car, only the friend reached the shore, and Bhandari remains missing. Efforts to recover his body from the canal are ongoing.
