Subsequent to their loss in the elections and the trauma of seeing those who vanquished them at the hustings being given plum posts in the government, the leaders were keeping a low profile.
Several BJP luminaries including former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, former Speaker and Minister Rajendra Arlekar, Damu Naik, Dayanand Mandrekar met up at the State BJP office on Monday in a meeting that was described as an informal coming together of the partymen. Besides the former MLAs party bosses including State Party President Vinay Tendulkar and General Secretary Sadanand Shet Tanavade were present at the party office.
At Monday's meeting however, the leaders have decided to put that phase behind them and continue their work for the party. Former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar even decided that he should attend to his constituency office every week and meet with his constituents and take up the their issues with the government.
