A 37-year old youth from Khareband-Margao Diptesh Dalvi died in a road accident behind the district library building at Navelim late Monday night.
While questions are being raised in certain quarters whether the deceased has died in a hit and run case, Margao Police Station in-charge, PI Tulsidas Naik said the police is verifying the hit and run angle.
The accident had occurred at around 11.21 pm Monday night. Police said the Aviator scooter was lying on the road and the injured person was shifted to the South Goa district hospital. He was declared brought dead.
PI Tulsidas said the post mortem examination report has certified the cause of death as due to damage to head and chest consequent to blunt force impact.
The body was later handed over to the relatives of the deceased for final rites.
