One held for theft of copper wire
MAPUSA: Mapusa Police arrested one person on charges of stealing copper wire worth Rs 25,000.
Taking advantage of the holiday on December 25, the accused, Janmayjay Jina, entered the premises of Crompton Greaves and made away with copper wire worth Rs 25,000.
The whole incident was caught on the company’s CCTV camera.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by the company’s deputy HR manager, Rajendra Parab police began investigation and apprehended the accused on Monday evening.
A Mapusa court remanded him to two days police custody.
Mapusa Police booked the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and arrested him. Mapusa Police is investigating further.
