Only three out of the 101 candidates were declared successful in the Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) conducted by the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) for the 22 positions of Junior Scale officers.
The Goa Public Service Commission had advertised 22 positions of junior scale officers in January this year and had received around 3700 applications for these openings.
The screening test scheduled for March was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the commission decided to conduct a pre-screening test prior to the screening exam.
A total of 3000 persons had answered the pre-screening test and 101 were eligible to answer the exam which was held on December 13, where only three candidates were declared successful. These candidates will now have to answer the written exam which comprises four papers of 250 marks. This will be followed by an interview carrying 40 marks.
In the meanwhile, the Commission conducted a screening examination for the post of Civil Registrar in the Law Department where around 310 candidates had applied for four positions -- two in the general category, one in OBC and one in ST category.
While 11 candidates cleared the exam in the general category, five cleared in OBC category and seven in the ST category. These candidates will now have to answer an interview for final selection.
