Osia complex lift haunts visitors to TCP office

MARGAO

The non-functioning lift at the Osia Commercial complex at the SGPDA complex came back to haunt the visitors to the Town and Country Planning office located on the fourth floor of the complex.

Wednesday witnessed an uproar after a lady senior citizen could not climb the stairs after it was found that the lift was not functioning.

As the woman complained of chest pain after climbing a few stairs, people raised an uproar about how come the government is acting as a silent spectator to the hardships faced by the visitors to the TCP and SGPDA offices, both located on the fourth floor of the building.

Colva panchayat member Menino Fernandes demanded to know how come the government has not intervened when the issue over the non-functioning lift has not been resolved over the last several months.

“The government should immediately restore the lift or shift the TCP office to the Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex on priority,” he said.

Demanding to know why the government has not shifted the TCP and other government offices to the Matanhy Administrative complex which is supposed to house all government departments in the district under one roof, Menino said work at the TCP department has been hampered due to the non-functioning lifts.
