Parishioners of the Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima at Xellim, Loliem, celebrated the feast of their patroness, Our Lady of Fatima, on May 13 with deep devotion and prayer.
The Eucharistic celebration was led by Fr Freddy Lobo, Parish Priest of St Francis Xavier’s Church, Bhatpal. The concelebrants included Fr Patrick Luis, Dean of Canacona Deanery, Fr Theodozio Fernandes, Chaplain of Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, Xellim, along with other priests.
In his homily, Fr Freddy spoke about the lasting spiritual message of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima and encouraged the faithful to rediscover the power of the Rosary. Stressing the need for prayer in today’s troubled world, he urged families to make praying the Rosary a regular practice for peace, unity and spiritual renewal.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Patrick Luis SFX praised the dedicated service of Fr Theodozio to the chapel community, especially his efforts towards the renovation and upkeep of the chapel.
After the Holy Mass, the statue of Our Lady of Fatima was taken in a solemn procession, with the faithful prayerfully accompanying their patroness and entrusting their families and the world to her maternal intercession.
