CANACONA
More than 30,900 voters will exercise their franchise in the Zilla Panchayat polls in Canacona on December 20, with polling to be held across the Khola and Poinguinim constituencies.

Khola ZP constituency has a total electorate of 14,146 voters, comprising 6,975 men and 7,171 women, who will cast their votes at 22 polling stations located in the village panchayat areas of Khola, Betul-Naqueri, Agonda and Shristhal.

Poinguinim ZP constituency accounts for 16,820 voters, including 8,131 men and 8,669 women, spread across 31 polling stations in the panchayat areas of Poinguinim, Loliem-Polem, Gaondongrim and Khotigao.

Election materials, including ballot boxes and wheelchairs for differently-abled voters, were distributed to polling personnel at the Government Higher Secondary School, Mastimoll. Officials were transported to their respective polling stations in vehicles arranged by the Returning Officer under the Goa State Election Commission.

To ensure smooth and peaceful polling, 290 election officials, along with 25 staff kept in reserve, have been deployed. Security arrangements include 106 police personnel, with two policemen posted at each polling station, while five additional teams of polling officials have been kept on standby to meet any contingencies.
