Over 4 lakh sq mts of land notified for Mopa link road

In a development that could escalate the agitation against it, around 4.09 lakh square meters of land acquired for a link road between NH-66 (formerly NH-17) and the site of the greenfield Mopa international airport has been notified by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MORTH) on Friday.

The land is to be utilized to construct a link road from the junction at NH-66 near Dhargalim to the Mopa Airport near Varconda.

The notification states that the Central government declares that on publication of the notification in the official gazette, the land specified in the schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central government free from all encumbrance.
