The demand has been made through a memorandum submitted to Education Director, with an attachment of signatures of over 2 lakh parents in support of grants to English medium primary schools.
“It is our earnest plea to the Government to heed to the voice of over 2 lakh parents who have nothing but the interest of their children in mind. The parents who love their children know better what is good for the future of their wards, rather than a State Government which has other interests in mind,” stated the memorandum.
The memorandum states further: “We request the Government and the Director of Education to legislate and give legal sanction to the cabinet decision of July 1, 2014, at the earliest and lay the matter to rest which has been pending for the last six years. The Government/Department should rather concentrate on channelizing their effort
and time in improving quality of education.”
