Suggestions continued to pour in regarding the draft Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) with 280 new suggestions being received by the authority on the last day.
Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) Member Secretary Dasharath Redkar said nearly 280 new suggestions were received by the authority regarding the draft plan.
“While 145 new suggestions were received from North Goa, there were 131 new suggestions from South Goa. Besides, around 10 applications were received for corrections in the minutes of the meetings,” said Redkar.
Meanwhile, Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral on Friday said suggestions and changes in the minutes of the CZMP public hearings will be compiled within 3-4 days and an updated report would be uploaded on the website of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA).
Speaking to reporters, Cabral also said technical aspects raised by people would be verified by a special team and according to findings of the team, suitable changes would be made in the draft CZMP.
“July 15 was the last date to submit suggestions and the government is in process of compiling these suggestions and objections, which will be updated on the website. We may take 3-4 days to compile this work, but we want to finish it on time,” added Cabral.
The GCZMA on July 8 had conducted marathon public hearings on the draft CZMP at the district level, which went beyond midnight in both districts.
Hundreds of people had participated in the hearings and had raised concerns and apprehensions to the draft plan.
The minutes of both public hearings were uploaded on the website and people were given additional time till July 15 to make suggestions in the draft CZMP.
