"Parrikar said that he is confident of victory in Panaji constituency. But in the same breath said he would appreciate if the corporators supported him to increase his margin in the by-poll," informed sources present at the meet. After receiving invitation calls from a BJP leader for meeting with Parrikar with ‘developmental works' on the agenda, corporators from Babush camp including Mayor Surendra Furtado and Deputy Mayor Lata Parekh, held a meeting at CCP and decided to get in touch with Babush on whether to attend the meeting or not. However, it was only after receiving green signal from their boss Babush, that they decided to attend the meeting with Parrikar. Out of 21 corporators, 20 attended the meeting which was held at a hotel in Panaji. Only one corporator from Babush camp - Dinesh Salgaonkar - could not attend the meeting due to an emergency situation. Earlier, two corporators from Babush camp - Asmita Kerkar and Manisha Manerkar had said that they would support Parrikar in the bypoll.
