Anju Timblo, Managing Director and CEO of Fomento Resorts and Hotels Pvt Ltd, and Sachin Lawande, President and CEO of Visteon Corporation, will be honoured for their contributions to business and industry in Goa and beyond.
The awards, instituted by the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) and the Kashinath Damodar Naik Memorial Trust, will be presented on December 27 at Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao, at 5 pm. Timblo will receive the Kashinath Damodar Naik – Pride of Goa – Business Lifetime Achievement Award, while Lawande will be conferred the Kashinath Damodar Naik – Pride of Goa – Entrepreneur Award.
Timblo has led Fomento Resorts and Hotels Pvt Ltd since 1993 and is known for strengthening Goa’s hospitality sector. She heads the Taj Cidade de Goa – Heritage and the Taj Cidade de Goa – Horizon, which together form a major luxury hospitality complex in the State. Under her leadership, the Araqila luxury resort in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, has also commenced operations. She has actively promoted Goan culture and supported education through institutions run by Fomento Education and Charitable Societies.
Lawande, a Goa-born business leader, has been president and CEO of Visteon since 2015 and is a member of its board. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its work in automotive innovation, including hybrid and electric vehicle technologies, and partners global carmakers such as General Motors, BMW and Hyundai.
