Family raises alarm after he fails to respond

A 42-year-old IRB police employee, Siddheshwar Vasant Gawade, a resident of Gawade Wada, Korgaon, died by suicide after allegedly hanging himself at his house.
According to sources, Gawade had been under mental stress for the past six months. During this period, he was irregular in attending work and was also not taking his prescribed medication regularly.
On the night of December 22, 2025, Gawade returned home after midnight. While other family members went to sleep, he remained awake. When his father asked him why he was not sleeping, he said he would rest on the sofa.
At around 4 am, he told his father that he wanted to sleep in a room on the upper floor and asked for the key, which was given to him. He then went to the upper-floor room and locked the door from inside.
When he did not wake up by around 11 am, his father called out to him but received no response, causing concern among family members. They later broke open the door and found him hanging inside the room. He was immediately brought down and taken to Tuem Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Sources also said that Gawade had attempted suicide last month by jumping into a well. Pernem police are investigating the matter.
