Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Monday stated that the BJP government had provided Goans with several schemes, to focus on every section of society in the State.
He was addressing public meetings at Gudi and Ambaulim, where he appealed to people to re-elect Cuncolim BJP MLA Rajan Naik in the next assembly election.
At Talewada in Gudi-Paroda, Parsekar said there had been a significant change in Cuncolim constituency since Naik was elected to power in 2012.
“There are about 1,100 beneficiaries of Laadli Laxmi scheme in Cuncolim constituency alone. Besides the subsidised petrol prices, the BJP government provided subsidies to farmers and benefits to housewives and medical cover to families.
At Ambaulim, Parsekar said BJP government has focused on the welfare of every section of the society in the State.
“If BJP stays in power, then Goa will excel in tourism, infrastructure and other areas. It is our duty to preserve and protect Goa and to fulfil this criteria, we need a good government which is sensitive to the common man,” said the chief minister.
In his address, Naik said though Ambaulim village is not economically sound, schemes like the Dindayal Swasthya Seva Yojana had helped a lot of people in the village.
Some locals then claimed that MLA Rajan Naik did not visit Ambaulim village on a regular basis and had little contact with the villagers. They also pointed out that locals did not have a proper playground in Ambaulim village.
Responding to their queries, Parsekar assured to look into the matter and admitted that every village should have a proper playground.
