MARGAO
A pedestrian from Sarzora died in a road accident at Chinhinim in a hit-and-run case. The incident had occurred on November 27 near Royal Garden, open air hall, Chinchinim, when accused rider of Jupiter scooter Sanjay Biswas, residing at Baga-Ambelim, and a native of West Bengal, rode his scooter in a rash and negligent manner endangering human life, while proceeding from Assolna towards Margao direction.
When he reached near the Royal Garden, open air hall, Chinchinim, the accused rider knocked down the pedestrian Remedio Oliveira, a resident of Sarzora, who was walking in the same direction, due to which the pedestrian sustained grievous injuries.
Further the rider of scooter fled away from the spot with the scooter without giving medical aid to the injured person and without informing the Police. The injured pedestrian later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim.
The Cuncolim police has registered FIR under section 281, 106(1) of BNS and section 134(a)(b) of MV Act.
