The President of State BJP Mahila Morcha, Sheetal Naik, on Monday, said the mahila morcha will take up the issue of Women’s Reservation Bill with senior BJP leaders, but expected women to perform and stake claim for party ticket on merit.
“We will discuss the Women’s Reservation Bill with our senior leaders and are sure that our party will take the right decision on the issue. But personally, I am against reservation for women. Every woman should perform and claim a ticket,” Naik said.
Naik was addressing the media after announcing the selection of Geeta Kadam as the President of the Mahila Morcha North Goa District Committee at the BJP office in Mapusa.
Kadam will head a 32-member strong Mahila Morcha North Goa District Committee along with Diksha Mainkar, Tara Hadfadkar and Siddhi Prabhu as Vice-Presidents and Gauri Kamat as the General Secretary.
Speaking further, Naik said all mahila morcha units in the State would work together to help the party gain pole position in the 2022 election.
