Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar and a delegation from the Christian community submitted a representation to the Vasco Railway station in charge on Monday, urging for special train services during the annual Vailankanni feast.
Salkar highlighted concerns raised by devotees about inadequate transport options.
“We’re urging for punctual departure of the first train, addressing delays causing stress last year,” he stated.
Additionally, they seek extended halts of up to two days for pilgrims to attend Mass and pray.
Salkar emphasized logistical shortcomings, noting current schedules lead to missed return trains.
He pressed for two weekly services with spacing to meet pilgrim needs and plans to approach Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for support in enhancing travel convenience.
