MARGAO
The Goa unit of the Popular Front of India will organise a grand conference on October 29 at 3 pm at the Lohia Maidan on the theme "We also have something to say".
The grand conference has been arranged against the backdrop of reports that the government is planning to ban the organisation.
Addressing the media, PFI Goa unit president Syed Iftiyaz said accusations have been levelled against the organisation by quoting an alleged National Investigation Agency report, with an accusation alleging that it is recruiting its members for the Islamic State, working in Syria and Iraq.
Terming all the allegations levelled by the right wing forces through the national media as baseless, Iftiyaz said the growing popularity and the organisation's work of upliftment of the marginalised and downtrodden section of the society has become a thorn in the eyes of the fascist regime.
"As Indians and law abiding citizens, we have full right to make people aware of our vision for India. We are fighting for equal rights to all and working to realise this goal," he said.
