In a joint effort to enhance the standards and practices within the pharmaceutical industry, Pharmexcil (Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India) partnered with the Goa FDA to host a comprehensive Capacity Building Programme.

The event, centred on the theme ‘Importance of Quality Compliance and Patient Safety: Industry Practices and Regulatory Expectations’, spanned a full day of insightful discussions and technical sessions.

The programme, held in Panaji, received distinguished guests including Arun Kumar Mishra, Secretary of Health for the Government of Goa, and Jyoti Sardesai, Director of the FDA. Also present were key figures such as Uday Bhaskar, Director General of Pharmexcil, and Dr Eswar Reddy, Joint Drugs Controller for India, among others.

Technical sessions delved into various critical topics, including the revised Schedule M, preparedness for US FDA inspections, technological advancements in the pharmaceutical sector, impurity profiling, and fostering a culture of quality. These sessions aimed to equip participants with the latest knowledge and tools to meet regulatory standards and excel in industry practices.

The programme attracted a significant turnout from both the pharmaceutical industry and the Goa FDA, underscoring the shared commitment to advancing standards and promoting excellence within the sector.
