Pilar fathers get new Provincial Superior for Goa

Fr Joaquim Rebello was installed as the new Provincial Superior of the Goa Province of the Pilar Fathers.

A solemn Mass was held at the Goa Provincialate Chapel in Margao on Thursday to inaugurate the new administration of the Goa Province.

The ceremony, presided over by Fr Maria Michael, delegate of the Superior General of Pilar Fathers, featured the official installation of Fr Joaquim Rebello as the new Provincial Superior. He was accompanied by his Councillors: Fr Romeo DSilva (1st Councillor), Fr Milton Rodrigues (2nd Councillor), Fr Ivo Fernandes (3rd Councillor), and Treasurer Fr Wilson Paul.

During the service, Fr Mateus Fernandes, the outgoing Provincial, symbolically handed over the Book of Minutes to Fr Rebello. The Mass saw participation from numerous priests across the Goa Province, who gathered to pray for the new administration.

Following the Mass, a felicitation function was held to honour and welcome the new leadership.

In his address, Fr Joaquim Rebello expressed his gratitude to God and acknowledged the trust placed in him by the Superior General and his Council.

He highlighted the significance of collaboration among the members to further the mission of Jesus, urging unity and dedication in their service.

The event marked a pivotal moment for the Goa Province, symbolising a renewed commitment to their shared mission and vision under Fr Rebello's leadership.
