Plea for a day-long shibir on schemes for ST community

MARGAO: BJP South Goa district vice-president Anthony Barbosa on Monday appealed to the government for a day-long shibir in Curtorim constituency for spreading awareness on various schemes for ST community.

Addressing a programme at Raia on Monday at installation of Curtorim Constituency ST panel headed by president Manuel Barbosa, Anthony further appealed for bringing officers of the concerned departments under one roof so that tribals get the benefits, including caste and other certificates.

BJP ST Morcha Chief Prabhakar Gaonkar urged Curtorim ST panel to take all the schemes to the doorsteps across the constituency.

The function was attended by BJP district President Tulsidas Naik, BJP district ST Presidnet Adv Anand Gaonkar, and Vincy Quadros, who was invited as the Chief guest, Curtorim Mandal Chief Mayur Kudchadkar and Curtorim constituency in-charge, Bavesh Zambaulikar.

Manuel Barbosa is head of the Curtorim ZP morcha, while Anthony Gomes, Clemente Dias are the two vice-presidents. Anes Colaco is the general secretary.

Joida Barbosa, Selly Dias, Alver Gomes and Menino Quadros are the four secretaries, who have been installed along with 50 executive members on the panel.
