We must not only keep our house clean, but also the surroundings. By doing this, we can make our village clean, our city clean, our state clean and the country clean, was the message Ravisha
Kudchadkar, a class IX student of city-based Fatima Convent High School conveyed, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on tweeter on Sunday that the student from Goa won a national essay contest under the Swachh Bharat campaign.
"I think students must take part in programmes such as Swachh Bharat to increase awareness of citizens to make India clean and make the country a better place to live in," Ravisha said, as she earned bouquets from her parents and schoolmates over her prize-winning essay.
Ravisha felt really happy. "The announcement meant a lot to me, it's a life achievement and something great in my life. I will never forget it, it sounded music to my ears," she said, while profusely thanking the Prime Minister.
Her father Abhay, who was in Fatima Convent high school along with Ravisha on Monday, said he is proud of her daughter. "It is a great news and it has come from the head of the country. I am happy that an essay on Swachh Bharat has attracted the attention of a busy man such as the Prime Minister," he added.
While thanking the school principal and staff for shortlisting Ravisha to write the essay on Swachh Bharat, Abhay also took the opportunity to thank his wife Radha for his child's achievement.
Ravisha's schoolmates also showered accolades on her for the big achievement. "I am very proud of her. The country's Prime Minister has tweeted on her essay. She wrote the essay on an important topic on cleanliness which was very inspiring. We are really proud of Ravisha," her schoolmate Samiksha Admani said.
Lenosha Dias echoed similar sentiments. "We are all very proud of Ravisha. She had penned an essay on an important subject such as cleanliness ," Lenosha said.
