MARGAO
Welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Fatorda for the second time in the last three months, Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai on Thursday said the PM keeps coming to Fatorda since Fatorda is having the best infrastructure as compared to other parts of the state, including neighbouring Margao.
When the media sought his comment over PM’s second visit to Fatorda, Sardesai shot back “Fatorda is having the best infrastructure. You think, others did not want him in their constituencies, but the PM cannot go anywhere else for want of infrastructure. Magao is crumbling, the government buildings are falling, but Fatorda has solid infrastructure. I want the PM to keep coming to Fatorda”.
The Fatorda MLA along with officials descended near the Margao KTC bus stand to monitor the activities carried out by the agencies ahead of the PM’s. He asked the PWD officials to explore the possibility of lifting away the debris from the GSUDA land for land filling and help the Margao municipality comply with the High Court directives to clean up the area.
Sardesai also had an interaction with the motorcycle and rickshaw pilots, who have requested a shed near the bus shed. He also had an interaction with the residents of Ambaji, who has raised apprehensions that heavy traffic will enter the locality because of the widening of the roads.
