Elections to managing committees of 67 Comunidades in the North Zone and 90-odd of these age-old community institutions in the South Zone will be held on Sundays through the months of December this year and January-February next year.
Administrators of these Comunidades from North Zone and South Zone issued the notifications last week, specifying the dates on which elections to each of these institutions will be conducted.
In the North Zone, elections to pick the president, treasurer and attorney who will hold office for the triennium 2019-22 in Assonora, Colvale, Canca, Cudnem, Fraternal de Aldona will be held on December 2.
The notification issued by Gaurish J Shankhwalkar, the Administrator of Comunidades of North Zone has also fixed the election in Candolim, Pale, Serula and Sangolda on December 9 and on December 16 for the Comunidades of Arvalem, Guirim, Ibrampur, Mapusa, Oxel, Revora, Verla and Velguem.
Elections in Aldona, Latambacem, Marra, Marna and Nagoa (Bardez) will be held on December 2.
The elections will be held on December 23 at Arpora, Bordem, Camurlim, Nadora, Pilerne, Parra. On January 6 next year, managing committees of the comunidades of Assagao, Amona, Boa-Esperanca de Aldona, Dumarcem, Mulgao, Naroa, Nerul, Paliem and Tivim will be elected by their respective components, including joneiros and share-holders on January 13.
The components of the Comunidades of Anjuna, Advalpale, Cottombi, Moira, Mencurem, Nachinola, Pissurlem, Sarvona and Vaiguinim will elect their managing committees on December 30. Bastora, Bicholim, Gangem, Navelim, Olaulim, Sirsaim and Surla Comunidade elections will be held on January 20.
Elections will be held on January 27 to the Comunidades of Alorna, Corlim, Saligao, Punola, Pirna, Usgao and Calangute and the process will be conducted in Agarwada, Cunchelim, Pomburpa and Siolim on February 3.
The elections will be held at the usual meeting places of these Comunidades from 10.30 am.
Meanwhile, Paresh Fal Dessai, the Administrator of Comunidades of South Zone, has also notified elections to Comunidades of Salcete, Mormugao, Canacona, Sanguem and Quepem talukas.
