Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said a pollution“free Goa is possible only with public participation and to a large extent, by creating awareness among youth.
He was speaking at Porvorim after planting a sapling at a function organised by the Penha de Franca panchayat to mark a Vanmohatsav programme. Penha de Franca Sarpanch Swapnil Chodankar, Socorro Sarpanch Soniya Pednekar, Zilla Panchayat member Kavita Naik, Porvorim BJP Mandal President Vinit Parab and panch members of Penha de Franca, Socorro and Salvador do Mundo were present on this occasion.
Khaunte mentioned that Viksit Bharat 2047 is the government’s vision to transform the country into a self-reliant and prosperous economy by 2047, with an emphasis on economic growth, technological upgradation, Infrastructure development and social empowerment.
Swapnil Chodankar, Soniya Pednkear and Vinit Parab also spoke on this occasion highlighting the importance of the environment and appealed to villagers to plant saplings in the name of their near and dear ones who have expired and to take care of these plants.
