MARGAO
A dry spell on Wednesday had raised hopes that the PWD will undertake repairs of the potholes around the traffic junctions in and around the commercial capital, but in vain.
Both the busy and congested traffic islands at the Bolshe circle, Gogol and the Old market traffic circle were still dotted with potholes and craters, making driving difficult for motorists.
While the PWD stated that the Old market circle does not come under the local PWD, but is manned by the National Highways, the Bolshe traffic island was still awaiting a cold tar from the
PWD.
Besides, many a trench dug up to lay cables have sunk at many places, reducing the motorable road size.
The Ana Fonte garden road to the Gaylin road has been craving for attention, but the authorities have till date not taken up the repair work.
That’s not all. A portion of the road around the Margao Municipal garden has been washed off, hampering traffic movement, during peak hours.
Similarly, tar has come out of the numerous sewage chambers right in the heart of the town, but the PWD are still not seen around to carry out the
repair work.
The entry to the Pajifond road near Big G is full of potholes, while huge craters pose danger to two-wheeler riders and school students along the road passing by the Multipurpose school complex.
