Probe demanded in migrant voters registration in Fatorda

The BJP Fatorda mandal has urged the district electoral officer, South, to conduct an inquiry into rampant and unhealthy practice of registering migrant voters in the Fatorda electoral roll at the behest of a local politician in power.
A delegation of the Fatorda BJP Mandal led by former MLA Damu Naik called on Swapnil Naik and handed over a memorandum demanding a thorough inquiry into the allegation and also order a detailed probe into the EPIC cards found abandoned in the city.
Damy told the district electoral officer of the gross violation of the election commission guidelines while illegally enrolling migrants in the new electoral roll. “It is necessary to conduct thorough enquiry to verify the physical presence and permanent residence of the applicants who have proposed themselves for getting registered in Fatorda constituency,” Damu said, while demanding that an official team go into the allegations and come out with a report at the earliest.
Strongly objecting to the illegal practice of registering names in the electoral roll in Fatorda constituency with the help of BLOs, Damu demanded a probe into the applications, having no legitimate documentary support with respect to genuine residence and cancellation certificate of their election cards at their native place.
