MAPUSA: Property worth around Rs 1 lakh was destroyed in fire to a house in Mapusa early Wednesday morning.
Fire officials informed that fire broke out in a room of the house belonging to Avelino Pinto near the old Asilo Hospital in Mapusa at around 2.45 am.
Furniture, documents and the roof of the house were partially destroyed in the fire, the cause of which was yet to be ascertained, fire personnel said.
A person who was in the house at the time of the incident informed the fire brigade officials, which rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
