The PWD on Wednesday began work to cover potholes along the roads in Vasco.
The PWD began the repair work on a stretch of road near Goa Shipyard Limited, Vaddem Lake, etc. which were filled with potholes and had endangered motorists, while also leading to long queues as traffic had been moving at snail’s pace due to the potholes.
When contacted, PWD Engineer Vincent D'Souza said work to cover the potholes had begun considering the hot sun in the last few days.
"Work of attending to the potholes with full grout has begun due to the dry spell. The material had already been stacked at sites. We will provide full grout at three places near Vaddem Lake, Vaddem slope and Goa Shipyard Limited.”
“These works require a spell of 2-3 days of hot sun. Besides this, hotmix work is already tendered for a 6-km stretch of road between Pai Hospital, Vaddem, and Harbour at an estimate of Rs 7.8 crore," said D'Souza.
