Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Monday said that the PWD has been issued clear instructions to lodge FIRs against those involved in digging up newly hot mixed roads.
He was speaking to the media after launching the road hot mixing works amounting to Rs five crore near Hotel Nanutel here on Monday.
“Strict instructions have been issued to the PWD engineers to register FIRs against anyone digging up of newly hot mixed roads. We have given enough time and opportunity to the people to carry out road digging. Henceforth, no digging of the hot mixed roads will be allowed in the city at least for the next one year,” he said.
The Margao MLA said road hot mixing works amounting to Rs five crore have been taken up by the PWD in the Margao constituency.
“We have started the hot mixing works from Aquem. The present hot mixing work will cover the area around Hotel Nanutel right up to the Abade Faria road, near Ana Fonte Garden, Gayline road, Alto Monte and the road near Lohia Maidan,” Kamat said in the presence of MMC Chairperson Damu Shirodkar, Ward councillor Shagun Dada Naik, councillors and citizens.
