A team of PWD officers on Wednesday inspected the house which was partially demolished at Assagao and took measurements of the damaged structure.
The inspection follows a day after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had visited the site and had promised that the government would undertake repairs of the demolished part of the house and that the costs incurred would be recovered from those responsible for the demolition.
Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo and Assagao Sarpanch Hanumant Naik were present as the PWD officers inspected the damaged house.
Meanwhile, Anjuna police transferred the case to the Crime Branch, who took up investigations on Wednesday night and detained some people in the matter.
The investigation is underway under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar.
Meanwhile, the two accused, the JCB driver Pradeep Rana (28) of Candolim and real estate developer Arshad Khawaja (51) of Dona Paula, who have been arrested in this connection, have applied for bail before a court in Mapusa. The bail application will come up for hearing on Thursday.
