Residents of Chinchal in Margao constituency received a Diwali gift after Margao MLA Digambar Kamat inaugurated the refurbished public toilet in the locality on Wednesday.
Margao Municipal ward Councillor Deepali Sawal told the media that this is the third public toilet in her ward that has been refurbished by Sulabh International, adding that the fourth toilet is presently undergoing repairs and renovation.
After the inauguration, the Margao MLA informed that sanitation has been accorded top most priority in the commercial capital.
He said a number of public toilets have been refurbished and renovated under the PWD and executed through the Sulabh International.
“We have so far refurbished over half a dozen public toilets across the city. Many more toilets are presently undergoing repairs and renovation and they will be ready for use very soon”, he added.
