In his report submitted to the higher authorities, Johnson said that the rescue operation had commenced on Friday from 8 am by the Indian Navy and the Dristhi life guard services. He said the NDRF team too reached at the site from Pune and they too began to carry out the search operation from 2 pm onwards.
The report further stated that it was only at around 5 pm on Friday that the body of Bassaiya Wadar, a resident of Kakoda, was traced by the teams.
The report indicated that while the first body of one Basavraj Malnavar was recovered at around 8.20 pm on Thursday, the second body of one Ajit Prakash Ekka, a resident of Jharkand was recovered at around 2.10 am on Friday.
Johnson stated in his report that personnel of the Fire services, the Naval divers along with Dristhi divers put up a wonderful job. Around 16 divers of Dristhi, 20 fire service personnel and eight Navy persons took part in the search and rescue operations.
The report pointed out that a police personnel and a local did an exceedingly praise worthy work. Two locals Amar Savordekar and Suleman Gori also did an exceedingly job, with the Additional Collector recommending that the duo should be honoured by the government.

CURCHOREM: Expressing shock over the collapse of the footbridge, Sanvordem Sarpanch Deepak Sawant said it was unfortunate that people had not paid heed to safety.
“The incident on the Sanvordem bridge has shocked the entire village, especially since a person residing at Sanvordem died and many other villagers were injured,” Sawant told The Goan.
Stating that the footbridge had been off limits to pedestrians for a number of years, Sawant added: “We even block access to the footbridge during Ganesh visarjan time, but people don’t listen to the cautions.
