A 33-year-old rider from Cunchelim, Mapusa, was injured after a private passenger bus knocked down his two-wheeler near the court junction in Mapusa on Monday morning.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 9.10 am when the bus was travelling from Sanquelim towards the Mapusa bus stand.
Near the court junction, the bus collided with an oncoming two-wheeler, allegedly dragging it for about 50 metres. The rider was taken to Mapusa District Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for a fractured leg.
A mob caught hold of the bus driver, who was later taken into custody by a police team.
The driver subsequently settled the matter with the injured rider, following which the police did not
register a case.
