Rivona, Neturlim VPs owe allegiance to BJP

The two panchayats of Rivona and Neturlim, out of the seven panchayats in Sanguem constituency, have stayed with the BJP.

Rivona Sarpanch Surya Naik said he has backed the BJP looking at development works carried out by the BJP government. He assured that he would work for betterment of Rivona village without any discrimination.   
Recently, after the panchayat election results were declared, Rivona panchas had met Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and expressed their support to the BJP-led government in the State.  After he was sworn in as sarpanch, Rivona Sarpanch Naik had told the media that he has backed the BJP because he wants to see development of Rivona village.   
Rivona Sarpanch Rajani Gaonkar, who was elected unopposed, along with other panchas have also extended their support to the BJP-led government and former MLA Subhash Phaldessai.   
Recently addressing a news conference, Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar had stated that though Neturlim and Rivona panchayats have not backed him, he will carry out all the public works and other development works without any discrimination, as his aim is to make overall development of his constituency.
