The Scouts and Guides unit of The Rosary High School, Cujira-Bambolim, conducted an overnight camp for 66 scouts and 67 guides of Std 7 at Nirmal Nature Campsite Tilamol.
Fr Peter De Souza, Assistant to the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church at Paroda, was the chief guest for the opening ceremony and declared the camp open and Guide Rhea Sawkar introduced the chief guest.
The scouts and guides enthusiastically took part in a number of adventure activities such as Commando Bridge, Monkey Bridge, Ladder Climb, Net Crawl, Wall Climbing, Tyre Wall, Tarzan Swing, Ladder Wall, Chimney Crawl, Tree House and a Blind Man’s trail. A treasure hunt, nature quizzes and wide games were also conducted.
The grand camp fire the Gini Zulu tribe way was lit by the king of the tribe Scout Rishi Sharma while the others danced around the fire, shouting the slogans of the Zulu tribe of Africa.
The students put up skits, dances, songs and entertained themselves to special claps, yells and action songs. Guide Ekansha Sawant compered the camp fire.
The scouts and guides were also involved in night patrolling activity. A 108 paramedic was stationed at the campsite in case of any emergency.
On their way home, the scouts and guides visited the dam built during the Portuguese era on River Kushawati in Quepem.
