Rough weather conditions in the Arabian Sea forced water sports operators to anchor the boat ashore the Colva-Benaulim beach belt in the last two days.
Traditional fishermen, engaged in fishing activities through country-made motorised boats, have also anchored their vessels on the shore as a precautionary measure.
The high tide witnessed during the week has also resulted erosion at Colva beach, sources informed.
Hundreds of visitors to the world famous Colva beach had to return back disappointed with no joy ride on the water sports boats in view of the inclement weather conditions. In fact, one could come across water sports boats all anchored along the Colva-Benaulim beach belt as a matter of abundant caution.
Benaulim-based water sports operator Pele Fernandes informed that the water sports operators have paid heed to the warning issued by the Meteorological department, warning of rough weather conditions in the sea.
“We have found strong winds blowing in the sea in the last three days. Both the water sports operators and the traditional fishermen have not ventured out in the sea in the last three days,” Pele added.
