Normal proceedings of the gram sabha began after the sarpanch apologized but later when some locals again raised the issue for non-informing about the meeting, the sarpanch abruptly adjourned the gram sabha.
“How can the panchayat suddenly hold the gram sabha without informing the locals properly? There were no advertisements on the paper nor was a public address system used to announce about the meeting in the village,” Satyavan Harmalkar said.
Seconding him was Micheal D’Souza who also questioned the panchayat members for holding the gram sabha without proper intimation.
“First of all the gram sabha is being held after a delay of 18 months and now when you hold it you fail to inform us properly,” D’Souza said.
Rajesh Shirodkar also demned the panchayat’s attempt to try and hold the gram sabha clandestinely.
Sarpanch, Pratima Govekar apologized to the villagers and promised that such error won’t be repeated in future.
Gram Sabha member, Sandesh Korjuvenkar informed that due to lack of space, gym equipment for the panchayat obtained from the MPLAD funds went back.
He questioned when the panchayat will get space for a gym. The panchayat secretary, Dharmesh Govekar informed that work on the panchayat building was in progress where there was a provision for a hall.
“We can accommodate the gym in that hall,” Govekar said. The panchayat took a resolution stating that the panchayat required gym and with the resolution the panchayat members will meet the dy collector.
Locals also raised the issue of non-cleaning of gutters even as monsoon was approaching.
The sarpanch informed that work for cleaning of gutters has been tendered and the people could contact their respective panch members on the issue.
