In a swift action, the Goa Police has nabbed the two assailants allegedly responsible behind the gruesome murder of Sadiq Bellari at the Rumdamol Housing board.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Margao DySP Santosh Desai informed that a team of Maina-Curtorim police apprehended the two assailants in Karnataka.
He said a police team which was dispatched to Karnataka soon after the murder took place at around 9 am on Friday has intercepted the vehicle in which the two accused persons were travelling.
Sources pointed out that the two accused have been putting up at a house right opposite the house of the deceased for the last one month. After committing the gruesome murder of Bellari, the duo fled from Rumdamol with the vehicle of the owner of the house where the duo was staying for the last one month.
Taking cognizance of the clue and intelligence inputs, a Goa police team was sent to Karnataka on Friday noon, wherein the team has finally managed to apprehend the two assailants at Shounoor.
Muzahid murder case: Sadiq was granted bail in June
MARGAO: Police has informed that deceased Sadiq Bellari, a resident of Rumdamol Housing Board, who was murdered in cold blood inside his house on Friday morning, was enlarged on bail in June last, in the murder of a 22-year old person that took place near the Bhagwati colony in neighbouring Davorlim village in May 2020.
Police sources informed that Sadiq had received threats after he moved for bail in the murder case. While Sadiq was granted bail in the Muzahid murder case, the other accused is still languishing in jail with the trial presently underway.
Sadiq Bellari and Ismail Mulla were charged by the Maina-Curtorim police for the alleged murder of Muzahid after he was stabbed to death late evening in a scuffle between the two accused persons and the deceased Muzahid and his friend.
