South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes on Thursday hit out at AAP Goa Desk In-charge Atishi for her remarks alleging a sharp rise in the net worth of political leaders in Goa, including Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao.
Reacting to Atishi’s claim that the wealth of Goa’s political families had multiplied several times over the past decade, Fernandes said it was unfortunate that AAP was focusing its attacks on the opposition instead of questioning the ruling BJP.
He accused AAP of acting as the “B team” of the BJP and said the party’s leaders were being sent from Delhi to create confusion and division among Goans.
“Instead of standing with the people of Goa and questioning the government on issues of corruption, unemployment, and rising prices, AAP is attacking those who are holding the BJP accountable,” Fernandes said.
The South Goa MP further alleged that AAP’s conduct in the State exposed its double standards and insincerity towards Goa’s interests, adding that Goans can clearly see which party is genuinely fighting for their welfare.
